Good Week.

Just going to do a short update to let everyone know what’s going on with me. I have been having an awesome week! Started out on Monday with me being awarded an internship at Fueled By Ramen. It’s an amazing opportunity to work with some great people and several of the hottest bands on the market. I can’t even begin to explain how excited I am.

We randomly selected winners from the mailing list this weekend and I was able to contact some folks about sending them my art. Having people excited about your work is always an amazing feeling. I’m nearing completion of my first vector pack, and I have some really cool things planned for the website. Things are coming together a little bit and it feels so good.

My MerMaze design has gone over really well at DBH. I think I have about 75 votes right now. Getting really close to the range at which they’ll probably print. Awesome! If you haven’t voted please take a minute and show me some love here!

Yeah, that’s about it. Just having a good week. Gotta love it.

Watercolor Effect Tutorial [Photoshop]

I have been working with natural media more recently, and as a result, I have been  learning how to bring my natural work onto the digital drawing board. I have shown a few people my “watercolor” technique and it has proven to be wildly popular amongst my peers. It’s not very hard to accomplish, so I figured I’d take a few minutes to share it with you good folk! Read more

So what’s new?

As it turns out, my friends are way more interesting than I am so I figured I’d spend a minute or two talking about them. Sweet! I’ll give a little background on them, and then I’ll show what’s going down. Simple, right?

Godmachine! This is one of my best friends, seriously he’s amazing. He has a cat and a variety of SPICES!

He’s having his artwork shown in an exhibition between Palehorse and Hydro74. He’s there with a whole list of badasses, and some of them friends of mine. It will be spectacular. Presale for the t-shirts that will be exhibited starts tomorrow!

Badasses.

GM is badass.

In other news, my friend Ryan has just started a clothing company. One of his first two designs he’s dropping is my Shackled skull.. I’m pretty excited about the whole thing. Additionally, he’s in a pretty awesome band, but one of the members has just been diagnosed with cancer. He has the option to to donate to a fund for his friend on the store. Seriously, if you can’t pick up a shirt, try to make a small donation. Every penny helps. It’s at http://www.stabbme.com

My friend Jimiyo just became a curator at Teefury. He’s an amazing artist, and has been a huge help to me in getting my freelance career started. If you are interested in getting one of your designs printed at teefury drop him a line – email me for his contact email if you’d like.

Gaunty has managed to win the Emptees.com Tee-Battle! His winning submission was this little number, for the topic of “Mutated Animals”:

More posting will be happening this week. I know I have been slacking a bit, but I have some cool things planned. Also, be expecting the first edition of my Newsletter towards the end of the week!
