I was driving home from an appointment the other day. I haven’t driven my car much lately, it felt good. I had my windows down, the first really warm day in ages it seemed like. I looked up through the glass tops of my car at the sky and it was bright blue, everywhere else was becoming noticeably greener. Just me on the road for as far as I could see, I push down on the gas. The soft rumble of the motor growled slightly under the new stride, and I felt the pressure of her great acceleration in my chest. Blood coursed through my veins and I took a deep inhale of the fresh air that was flowing so quickly into the cab. I felt the warmth of the sun and the looming seasons on my face, seeming in my bones. It felt like being alive for the first time.
